So for the past few weeks, tumblr has been holding a "Most Influential Shipping Tournament", where several of the most popular romantic ships on tumblr went off against each other in a massive bracket.
It's now the finals. Castiel/Dean from Supernatural is one of the finalists, of course. Supernatural is the slash shipping powerhouse that invented omegaverse, and tumblr has been its fandom's home turf for over a decade.
And the other finalists? Are Suletta/Miorine from G-Witch.
I have no idea how they did it. I haven't been following this tournament (until now). They apparently managed to just scrape past the Good Omens ship, which has been tumblr's darling for the last few years, and now they are against Destiel.
And they are currently WINNING. BY A LANDSLIDE.
Yuri fans, Gundam fans, Supernatural Burnouts Who Now Hate It, and people who Just Like To Meme all showed up in force for this.
Supernatural fans (and most normal people, probably - I know it's hard to imagine but most people aren't weebs) are utterly baffled. Their tags and comments are a mix of utter confusion, and supervillain monologue speeches about how they are very oppressed for liking Supernatural.
Also one of them made this image supposedly to make fun of us SuleMio voters, but actually it just makes us look extremely cool:
Anyway I'm just sharing this because I find it incredibly funny, and as both a yuri and gundam fan, This Is My Moment.

Entering the notes and getting hit in the face with takes like "making jokes about Sulemio defeating the white boy ship is racist and sexist against white boys" or "without Supernatural's representation laying the groundwork for future shows there would be no Witch From Mercy" was an experience. I need to study these people like bugs.
