hypothetically if I've never played ddr ever but I want to play one or some other game with a dance mat, what is a good one I can play at home so I don't have to drive two hours to a round one

stepmania is sorta the default "DDR we have at home" The problem with stepmania (if any exists) is that you'd have to set up songs yourself. I also heard there's a MAME fork that can run DDR soon, so that'll be a possibility.
if you want a regular game, there's a steam game called pulsen that looks good. and I think generic mats can be bought for as cheap as 15 bux if you want a semi authentic experience.
ah yeah I kinda just. want to... have songs foisted at me. doesn't gotta be DDR exactly but just something physical I can do. The benefit of like, home console releases is that they generally have to include a good assortment of songs from beginner to expert so it's its own lil' enclosed universe
pulsen looks neat!
maybe I'll look into mats. would wanna get something at least a little beefy that's not gonna slide around on my floor tho... suspect I'm gonna need more than fifteen bux for the privilege but I'm sure there are long reddit wars about what's good I can crib notes from ...
