buying a dance pad reminds me of the time I moved out of my mother's house at 18 and the only controller I had with me was an n64 steering wheel, so I played star fox 64 using a wheel and pedals

the pedals were shoot and bomb. I had to press buttons on the wheel to go up and down. it was impossible

maybe I can play stardew valley using the dance pad.

End up going with an L-tek?

If you need any other getting stuff set up, or song pack recommendations just let me know! I got back into DDR a few months ago after dropping it for 10 years 😅

I did! I was very fortunate that someone I know in a mutual discord happened to have a brand new one, spare, that I was able to buy locally!

I got stepmania and notITG engines, I got a few random packs from the sim site, but yeah- feel free to suggest other games/engines/packs/whatever that are suitable for a broad skill range :)

As far as I know, Stepmania has not gotten development in a while. The two forks I know of are NotITG and Project Outfox. I mostly use Outfox, but afaik both should work fine.

If you're using Zenius-I-Vanisher, one thing to note about official pack downloads is that they only contain songs that were new in that game. If a song appeared in multiple games, it's only in the historically-first pack.

Ben Speirs tends to to have good packs with a fair amount of contemporary pop songs. Look for SPEIRMIX and WEEBMIX.

JBean also does some good custom packs. I can also vouch for his commission work!
