re: windows 10 EOL
I'm just super salty because I have a completely legitimate copy of windows running on an intel i7 6700k with 32GB of ram and I have not, for any reason, even briefly considered upgrading this system because it's still fast and snappy and with the EVGA 3050 GPU I plopped into it during peak covid times, it still runs every video game I wanna play on it with absolutely maximum settings. Like, I've been playing Yakuza: Like a Dragon on max and it's totally fine!
and now you want me to buy another like $1500 machine and a new copy of Windows so that you can run hardware-enabled DRM on my computer?
fucken. no? I don't think so? the value proposition is completely out of whack. I do not need or want this
and sure. I can just keep using windows 10 without updates. but I am worried that a lot of people are going to refuse upgrading to windows 11 and it's going to create a massive security nightmare. there's a shitload of skylake CPUs out there.
idk. just seems like an incredibly bad faith move
