Anyone on this webbed site ever program a GUI application with Python? Is there anything better to use than Tkinter? I can kinda-sorta get the job done with it, but it seems very clunky and poorly documented and, in 2024, really buggy with regards to basic functionality on both Windows 10 and Linux/Wayland systems.

Is there literally anything else at all that is cross-platform and isn't awful to program?

in reply to @nago-'s post:

I have never actually succeeded, but I have tried.

I was initially using Tkinter until I realized the same things you probably have. I then switched to PyQt before running out of steam on the project, never to pick it up again. It might be worth a shot, but I haven't really done enough to say for sure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

just run a web server and do the GUI in HTML/CSS/Javascript

i'm not even sure myself if I'm joking or being serious. there's genuinely nothing that's more cross-platform than web these days
