still waiting to hear back from pypi on if I'll be allowed to use the name i want for my python package. honestly I guess I could just rename the package without renaming the module but it'd be nicer to not have to ...
The code is actually public on gitlab now but I haven't linked it because the Readme and docs are all written assuming the package name I can't use, so I was hoping to resolve this first ...

like honestly in the grand scheme of things it's a trivial matter to choose a new name but I've been working on this for so long that I just kinda got attached and don't really wanna change that stuff if I don't have to. I know I'm being kinda petulant but. wehhhhh.
Honestly, I've used packages where the module name doesn't match the package name, and every single time it's a weird tripping point 🙁
yeah, I think that's a far worse offense than "your package name is similar to another one"
