Hello! Have you ever wondered why so many creatures all have jaws? Why do so many land and sea animals have four limbs? Where do whales come from? Why do armadillos look like that?
Today I'd like to share one of my absolute favorite YouTube channels: Moth Light Media! The videos on this channel are each focused on the evolution of a specific type of animal, like the evolution of silk and webs in spiders or the convergent evolution of flightless birds across the southern hemisphere or the armored fish Dunkleosteus of the Devonion period (pre-dinosaur!). These videos have reignited a desire to learn in me that I didn't realize I'd lost!
The information is delivered clearly and concisely by a soft spoken British man, and they're very well edited. They're also pretty short, only about 10 minutes each. If you've got a favorite animal there's probably a video on it! I hope! Don't get mad at me.
If you enjoy looking at and learning about the beautiful and varied forms of life that have found success across all of life's vast history, you should give this channel a look.
