Man Marigold's stories are just not, like... exciting to me so far, idk. I think Chiaki has more character as a heel. I do really like Kouki & Chika as an underdog babyface tag team who are in love with each other. Mirai & Aono have great chemistry but this whole thing going to a triple threat with Bozilla for whatever reason feels predictable and boring, like I don't hate that Mirai & Aono are feuding but the way it's happening is not something I'm into. I like Matsui & Showzuki coming in liking each other and then coming to hate each other over the lightweight belt, assuming that actually goes somewhere and they don't just make up after the title match. I was really liking Ishikawa at first but that was because she was mean and was trying to start shit; her just being a nice girl who's extremely devoted to Nanae is boring. Good god does the booking ever feel stale, though.
But like man, idk what it is. Part of it could be that I haven't actually watched the shows so my investment is lower, sure, but I'm already invested in the wrestlers, and it's not like I'm watching any current Stardom stuff either, but I'm extremely hooked by Stardom's stories right now.
It definitely feels like part of the issue is that they loaded up way too much on this Ryogoku show and announced most of the matches super early, so for like weeks now it's just been. Hey Ryogoku is coming! With very little natural development or progress. Which is something Rossy and Giulia both criticized Harada for but Oh Well I guess, what else are you gonna do when you're trying to move numbers at a venue that's way too big for your new company's second ever big show.
I think why it's frustrating to me is I can't quite tell what the reason for it is. If they just need more time to cook then like, okay. I've waited through longer periods of worse stories. But if Marigold is just intent on telling a kind of story I don't find interesting, I mean, it's the same reason I cut TJPW, I really loved their roster too but I'm just not gonna follow a show I know is never gonna tell stories that excite me. Idk I just can't tell if it's time or if I just can't divorce my feelings towards the company from hating Rossy and his booking style having worn extremely thin for me or if they're just going for a more sports and rivalries focused style than Stardom's high drama that just isn't as interesting to me or what. I don't like not knowing I wanna be able to tell if I'm gonna be in or out you know.
