Endlessly fascinated by folks who review emulation handhelds on YouTube for a living, especially when they tackle handheld PCs. There are $1,200 Windows devices that can run Spider-Man for 90 minutes before running out of battery, and you still see conclusions like "This could be a proper Steam Deck competitor!"

The niche that started as a way to play Contra on the bus for about a hundo has evolved into something unsustainable

It's pretty bad! Like, the Steam Deck doesn't last that long either when you're playing a AAA game with everything maxed out, but it's a third of the price compared to its Windows machine competitors, and those systems pack in dozens of other battery-guzzling features like 120Hz screens and RGB lighting.
