When pressed for details Keighley assured that we "wouldn't know her, she goes to a different school" and that "she's actually moving to canada too".
The way he phrases it suggests she declined their invitation as opposed to accepting it and canceling for unforeseen reasons, which itself suggests Keighley (or whoever Keighley put in charge of inviting guests) only tried to invite the one woman and then gave up the second she declined.
