I feel people who like, don't feel their art is good because of whatever fucking reason need to step outside the internet and show real people their art sometimes.

Every nurse who saw my Live2D and art while I was in the hospital was flabbergasted.

My grandparents proudly display the lil sketchbook zine I made last year among their fancy ornaments.

The other day my sister wanted a patch for a girl guide leader friend of hers and I didn't have a lot of time so I sublimated one and it had a rough ass zigzag trim that I was like, I'm sorry!! It's kinda rough!! The white was sticking outta the green trim in spots it wasn't great!! And the feedback I got was that it was the most professional thing the other ladies had ever seen. Something I felt embarassed giving to my sister was the most impressive gift she's ever given.

You gotta like.
Get a reality check sometime dude.
Talk to normal ass people.

if you don't know the original, i'm sorry. the first part (not pictured because google is shit) is a picture of an artist making a cake and being all disappointed that it's not as grandiose as the one next to it. then this guy (pictured: a normal ass person) shows up.

im curious if anyone else has ever gotten the "oh..." reaction to their work before like yea most people are pretty impressed by u drawing a picture but a lot of people myself included dont know how to handle the like, visible interpersonal disappointment of your music being annoying or your art being straight up ugly to someone. its not a giant problem or really anyones fault but some people dont dig small cakes and only want big ones and will tell u to ur face

Idk if it's just gifted kid burnout but I got so many shallow compliments as a kid that whenever someone compliments me now I'm like 'whatever they don't actually like it' unless they're super enthusiastic and/or go into exactly why they like it. That's mainly a me thing tbh but it's also something else to consider, I hope I didn't derail <3

I've observed a surprising number of people who won't say anything positive in any circumstance. Or perhaps even more oddly to me, will seemingly only praise things that cost a lot.

Perhaps just skip over them if you want an honest evaluation.
