fuck I just realised why interactables feel so familiar
huge fucking HyperCard vibes all over 'em
apparently in Firefox if you try to scale3d a thing with a z-scale of 0 it just makes it invisible

A hideous fruit, disgracing itself.

oh I think it's transform: scale3d(2,2,0); I wonder if (2,2,1) would work better
nope, then it renders with high-resolution fonts for me 🙈 I think this technique was exploiting a "bug" in Safari/Chrome
so the weird thing is that I'm in a chromium-based browser (vivaldi 5.3) but it still doesn't work!
I wonder if it's a coincidence in underlying 3D acceleration API + browsers that just happens to be broken in the same way in mac firefox and windows chrome for whatever reason
entirely possible!
I just want render-to-texture in HTML, is that too much to ask?
basically it let me render fonts at half-res and then scale them up, making for extra chunkiness
Makes you think
(Tring to decide if it's suppose to be blank or there's something not working)
EDIT: Oh wait it's there now
now wondering if one could make some portion of a hypercard-to-cohost converter
(i don't have a lot of knowledge of what hypercard was capable of)
