every time you go somewhere in baldurs gate 3 that isn't baldurs gate people are like "there's nothing like baldurs gate" like ohhh baldurs gate is soooo special you see they have this thing there called a "bodega"

I can totally believe that

super mario land is one of the better mario games, and quite possibly one of the best games in general.

• bite-size adventure, fully completable in under half an hour
• lots of secrets scattered about, enough that even experts don't know them all
• fun change of gameplay mechanics in two stages
• several unique concepts that haven't been seen since
  • one of few games that does not feature bowser or the mushroom kingdom
  • see also: link's awakening and ganon / hyrule
• kickin' rad music
• one of the best ending themes ever
• replayability (hard mode, full level select)
• short enough that you can just play it every now and then, hard to burn out on

it isn't #1 on my list (no points for guessing that game) but it might be a #2

Why Kirby's Dreamland was so great. Actually those are traits to a lot of my favourite game boy games.
