I'm thinking about the writing projects I've abandoned and this paragraph about writing struggles being related to the idea that you are about to encounter a potential threat. I wonder if there are aspects of the writing I do now, as someone who scrutinizes journalism, that feel like an existential threat to the writing methods I learned and used as a newspaper reporter.
Boyd's book encourages a deeper analysis of "writer's block" that I'm finding helpful.
