Text-heavy, weird edgy font, super-aggressive, aimed at pre-teens, called you an idiot. Arguably the most aggressive ads came from the weakest positions: Jaguar advertising was "64 bits is more bits, you stupid son of a bitch", and 3DO advertising was, well, this. Neither ever showed their games.
For the first couple of years Nintendo would run this "hall monitor" defense where they'd buy out advertorial that said "bluh bluh actually BLAST PROCESSING is not REAL i am telling the TEACHER right away", but they figured out pretty quick to embrace MESSED UP FONTS and INSULTING YOUR 11-YEAR-OLD MASCULINITY and well here we all are, I guess
So much advertising for everything was like this in the mid 90s it was pretty obnoxious
