i liked zeiram more but i did enjoy this one a lot. it's more janky and shlocky than the former but also it's so fucking raw. inoue was phoning it in but amemiya was doing his BEST i kneel. also what can i say. i am weak to hot robot men.

this is less a movie and more a compilation of the rawest shots, sets and designs you will ever see concentrated in a film tape. this movie is "i know dudes who use subtlety and i think they are fucking COWARDS" the film. this shit is SO cool it's SOOO fucking SICK. i had a blast. it's so hypnotic? like i think the mix of the like vibe, directing and art direction with inoue being in autopilot mode w/ some barely stringed in scenes makes it so oddly compelling and i think it's amemiya who unifies all this.

i did hear the theatrical cut actually edits out a lot of the dialogue? so like. yeah that's prob a good call for release bc this is one of those films where the visuals talk more. i do think watching the director's cut was a good call bc, well, it IS what the staff intended tho

i do think this feels less classy/polished compared to zeiram bc it's mostly shot in a way that really sticks to like....toei's usual toku style? but even within that frame amemiya does his best to make a visually striking movie

anyways michael and hakaider are hot. they are very hot okay. good movie. keita amemiya the mvp
