Extra destructive workflows are all about making changes as hard as possible to back out of. Every time you move a brush, it compiles the map, deletes the .map source data, then decompiles the .bsp and reopens that in the editor. Maybe you have to reboot your computer a couple times in between. Maybe the editor doesn't have a config file and you have to redo your settings every time you open it. 10-15 clicks to tell it where the map compile binaries are every single time.
