[∆/∇:] coping with some sad tonight by being extremely stoned and listening to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis, it's our favorite surreal concept album
it's just fucking unhinged from start to finish. the sleeve design is wild and has a whole short story to go with it. a work of absolute genius
re-listened to side 4 while doing some audio setup testing, and thinking about who we were when we first heard this album versus today.
it's sort of wild that we fell in love with it at face value ("it's really weird and has good instrumentals") in our teens, and then ~twenty years later we really sat down with it and came to better understand the themes of madness, self-discovery, and split personality that it has woven through it
we might've had some vague sense of those being themes back then, but there was no way we could've appreciated or related to any of them this deeply at the time
