Great write up of a kind of dialogue I’m trying really hard to avoid in my own works. I want my shit to be really genuine and sincere. Posts like Austin’s are a great reminder of that.
I’m tired of all the ironic jokes and the winks and nods to camera, the “well, that happened” shit. I’m tired of nothing being genuine or sincere. Frankly it adds to the artificiality of art made within capitalist constraints. It feels even more fake and disposable to me because of it.
