It's kind of amazing how one's life can change in such a short time frame. While writing my recent intro post, I thought about a previous life where I was a very minor tech blogger mostly on the fringes of the Apple sphere. I probably was at my peak circa 2014-15, including writing some freelance pieces for The Sweet Setup and queer news blog Unicorn Booty (now part of Hornet and defunct). In 2016, however, I burned myself out, and aside from a piece I wrote about Mastodon in 2017. and my coming out as transgender post in 2021, I haven't even touched my blog in years. (And it shows, since the encoding is fucked up on a bunch of stuff now.)

To be honest, I don't miss it. I never had the interest or patience in churning out another take on the latest tech news, preferring to focus on more interesting, bigger-picture stuff. I'm proud of the stuff I did back then, but I'm so far removed from the person I was then that looking back on it all, it feels kind of alien to me. Plus ça change, I guess?
