What. The. Fuck. I’ve just been presented with the weirdest fucking email glitch I’ve seen in ten years of email marketing.
So our sales team tried to reach out to a bunch of people with an image based HTML email about a membership benefit. It displays fine everywhere except in one case: on the iPhone mail app, it displays as a mess of Chinese characters BUT only if it’s a gmail.com address.
Clearly it’s an encoding issue, but where the encoding is getting munged, and why, I cannot say…
Except to say I am stumped is an understatement…
