So as more people join this strange little site, I though I'd make a new introduction post to tell you all more about who I am, and maybe find some more cool folks to follow around here.

So, my name is Rachel. In most places on the internets, I'm known as sanspoint. I'm in my late 30s, I'm transgender, use she/her or they them pronouns, and I live in New York City, though not the cool part.

By day, I'm an Email Marketing Manager currently working for [REDACTED NYC SPORTS TEAM]. I am also a professional competitive air guitarist (in that I have been paid money for doing competitive air guitar), and have been doing that fun little side thing for the past twelve years. I should post that whole story sometime in the near future.

I love music. Music is my passion. I'm an avid music fan, go to a lot of shows, like to fuck around with my analog synthesizer, drum machine, and various music creation apps. I'm also trying to learn how to play bass guitar, and can mostly fumble my way through a few songs. I mostly enjoy a lot of 80s post-punk, new wave, synthpop, and related genres, as well as new stuff that sounds similar.

Not sure what I really plan to use cohost for, but I'd love to interact with other interesting people into weird music, other queer and trans folks, and just post whatever fun shit feels right around here.

I responded to an interview request for LGBTQ competitors at the Air Guitar World Championships. I figure as an out trans air guitarist, possibly the only one competing this year, I should put myself out there for it. Hope it goes well!

Leaving Eden in a smoky haze
Waiting for my brain to flow
Out of my ears as I rise
Into the skies and back east
To the same mundane affairs
Of a professional trans woman
With a desk job and a 401k

Shared recognition, shared identity
A quantity in short supply at home
Where I blend into the crowd
Rarely seeing, rarely being seen
Not that I am alone at home
But we pass too often as strangers
In the membrane of our bubbles

Drown me in the sisterhood
Of trans women and community
Ease my anxiety with leaves
Burn, inhale, release, rejoice
See how paradise glows in light
Of the eyes of a girl of your kind
Who reflects the light of yours

But I cannot live in Eden,
And even if I could, I wouldn't
I am a creature of habits and needs
Best catered to where I belong
A bigger city and its way of life
With the people I have welcomed in
And they, in turn, welcome me back

I know the sisterhood I desire
Can be found at home, not far away
Six hours by plane in hazy Eden
It's not the same, it never is
But Eden is where you make it
And there is nothing to stop me
From finding what is already there
