I feel like this kind of thing is why I enjoy Lethal Company's visuals so much. It has that classic 256 color palette feel and the chunky depth of field compression at distance that just feels like a weird 3D video FMV background all the time.

Relateable. I made my NES/DOS inspired game (Rex: Another Island) 4:3 aspect, and the first thing a publisher did was ask me if I could add 16:9. They had to fite me (I did lose the battle and added it as an option).
