TRANS RIGHTS 🏳️‍⚧️ FFXIV-obsessed casual gamer and virtual photography hobbyist who will post about a bunch of my characters here at random. I’m that person who spends like 90% of my time in a game gathering every collectible in sight and trying to climb things that can’t be climbed. Some flavor of undiagnosed ADHD/autistic so real life stuff might get mixed in on occasion.

Asks open! Behave yourselves or they’ll close again lol

Last day of February. Let's celebrate by dropping some more hot takes:

  • White and white-passing people may not move goalposts on the Black identity, Black experiences, and what it is to be a mixed-Black person. This was brought upon us all by white supremacy in the first place, and the last thing we need is society to flop back into its old ways.
  • White people, regardless of politics, need to do better to understand their social influence in a white supremacist society. Nonwhite people's rights are conditional at best, and the powers that be don't listen to us all the time, if at all.
  • Black people have been barred from fair chances at school, work, and healthcare during 20th century economic booms. Stop perceiving Black people as "uncivilized". Not a lot of us crawled out to generate familial wealth, and even authorities aren't all comfortable with us having power. Look up "opportunity hoarding".
  • Black queer people exist. Black trans lives matter. Protect and empower Black trans women and transfeminine people. Don't bar Black queer people from prestigious opportunities at school/work. You bet we notice the silent antiblackness within queer/trans spaces.
  • If you're white/non-Black and want to share another Black person's voice, you put Black folks' voices before yours without wedging your ego into Black people's spaces.
