I am sketching out the rest of world 1's bug collection, but I can't help but feel like it needs something else. I want world 1 to feel packed with variety!
Any ideas? What other traits does this collection still need?

You caught me! :) A spider has been a frequent sketch for world 1. I haven't finalized him yet, though. Glad to hear it's a good fit! I'm just having trouble deciding on a tile pattern/silhouette shape.
Almost all of these bugs are very round and plump, so if you're looking for something different maybe a daddy longlegs with long, thin, and angular legs?
Angular is a very good thought! Daddy long legs are very fun proportions. Thank you for the ideas! 🐌
Ah! okay, in the US I think they're called pillbugs- they have a bunch of regional names apparently! woodlouse is the common name in england and aus it seems!
Ah, yeah! We also call them rollie pollies. Some of the only insects I'd not mind being around.
Ohh- yes! I love pill bugs! I will definitely get one in the game! Don't worry! :)
I suggested a silk moth a while ago, as they're both alien and beautiful. So, soft reminder!

Don't worry - silk moths are definitely coming! I'm thinking they'll align better with the battle mechanics of world 2 ;)
Haha, do you mean the fly at the bottom? He does kind of look like the mascot!
i agree w/ other posters that a spider or daddy longlegs, something spindly, would help add a bit of variety! or maybe a mantis? those are very "long and thin" without being quite as spindly, so they might fit in better with the art style while still adding shape variety?
also maybe a beetle of some type, like a jewel bug?
A mantis is a good thought! A jewel bug would also be super cool as a rare find - maybe he would reward treasure :)
Noted! He'd be a very different shape :) Thank you for the feedback!
