it's been 30ish hours since my last proper aura but I'm definitely still getting weird afterimages and occasional very brief blind spots, plus just a general sense of fatigue and out-of-it-ism

for me, it happens like this:

First, I get a "proper aura", which is the classic growing scintillating blind spot.
If I'm good and I go right to a dark room and do nothing but drink water for four hours, I don't ever get a headache.
For a day or so after that, my vision is just kinda weird. Not a full aura, nothing persistent and nothing that presages a full headache, but definitely at more risk of developing into a proper aura than normal

fortunately it only happens once every year and a half or so. this time around has been odd though, more migraines in a row. maybe also more persistent aura, although it's hard to tease that out from plain paranoia
