you know I honestly didn't have a lot of faith in Duolingo's gamified learning thing, especially since I pared way back on how much I do each day during the pandemic, but damn if I'm not substantially better at French than I was a few years ago. like not fluent, not even really conversational, but given that I really do only spend a few minutes every day I'm impressed that I'm making progress at all
