Google carefully taught us (and all its workers) to never put things like that in writing
and then a few years later we learned that that kind of training is itself potentially incriminating
and had to reexamine everything we thought we knew about responsible behavior

yes.
we've done an awful lot of living in a very few years, it's been interesting.
(by the way, the way we learned it's potentially incriminating is that we've developed a hobby of reading filings in federal lawsuits of which our ex-employer is the defendant. it's cathartic.)
