related to last rc (re-cohost??) i think it's easier to think of an object "deserving" to exist if it has strong boundaries and edges and pushes back on the world around it. and it can be kind of queasy to consider objects that don't do that, for example totally anodyne and indistinguishable genre work, or hobby work or tech demos or doodles, stuff that just seems to pile up and spread indefinitely and which can lead to fears or fantasies of being suffocated under vast and nameless quantity. i think really distinct stuff tends to be my favourite but there's also something to be said about coming to terms with the weird pleasures of the gloopy.
