If it's Sandy Hirsch, say hi from me ๐
A good voice therapist will be able to guide you through the technical process pretty effectively, but I think the most important thing to remember is that you're aiming for something that's comfortable for you. I found voice training very helpful for breaking out of my old vocal patterns, but I've also ended up with a day-to-day voice that feels more me than what I was using immediately after I graduated, even if that "passed" more. Passing is an illusion!
My secondary tip is this: hearing your own recorded voice sucks at first for pretty much everyone, but during voice training you'll be listening to it a lot and you'll probably get over that. If you can, keep recording it and listening to recordings even afterwards, both to keep it from becoming awkward and to have something to look back on to see how it's changed over time.
