I keep several common unicode characters on a sticky note on my desktop for easy copy-pasting. Although my life doesn't have enough piñatas in it that 'ñ' has made the list yet.

This trick is also how I got through the day when I was using a laptop with a broken underscore key.

I would simply hope that computers respected text input and so made it really easy to type an ñ
