Very funny to me that the best way to reply to comments on a GitHub pull request is to:

  1. open the "Files" view
  2. write a comment with no content and click "Start a review"
  3. open the "Conversation" view
  4. reply to comments
  5. open the "Files" view again
  6. delete the comment you made in step 2

If you don't do this arcane dance, your replies will be posted immediately, sending a separate email each time to the person you're replying to and not giving you any chance to go back and edit with more context. There is no better way to switch into batched mode than commenting on the "Files" view, even though on that view they've clearly established a convention for "Add single comment" (unbatched) versus "Start review" (batched) that could just as easily be applied to the "Conversation" view. This is somehow still an improvement over the previous interface, in which you couldn't batch messages in the "Conversation" view at all.
