Pretty similar to my experience on a replay! Once I'd seen everything and knew what to expect from the later areas, I was able to appreciate them a lot more. I think on the first playthrough it's easy to be disappointed by the mountaintops and the snowfields, when you were perhaps hoping for something on the scale of Limgrave again, but then knowing what the game is doing I find I'm better able to appreciate what the game is doing.

Waterfowl is just comically unfair though. I can't even be mad at it, it's just funny to me how transparently bullshit that move is. That little extra burst of slashes right at the end of it feels like a punchline!!
