Possibly my favorite Spike Lee that I've seen so far. Everyone in this is visibly having so much fun constantly. Although the "college shenanigans" genre has worn pretty thin and this is definitely just doing it straight up a lot of the time, I think the political nuance—particularly in Dep's struggle to get people to stand in solidarity without completely alienating all his friends—is impressive, and honestly comes off better than some of Lee's more lauded works that end up collapsing into liberalism.
