- press start to access the context menu for the DVD (don't access the hamburger context menu, that won't work)
- select "Eject Disc"
- quick press the PS button (don't press and hold, that won't work)
- navigate to the power icon, select "Turn Off PS5"

before this moment it never occurred to me that there was a way to eject a disc from the PS5 without pressing the physical button
i do not understand how after all the UX design experience we've accumulated with technology that it has somehow just collectively gotten WAY FUCKING WORSE
