plex has tons of like, basic feature functionality that would seem obvious to add that it's missing because the company that runs it is desperately chasing after trying to find ways to become the next crunchyroll or whatever. there's a ton of common audio codecs and subtitle formats that plex doesn't natively support on most of its platforms. even with my stupid nvidia shield pro setup, i have to use the plex plugin for kody to get full functionality so it can fall back on kodi's codec and subtitle support.

tbh i'm waiting for jellyfin to mature more and get better features and a better ui and i'll eventually switch over.

My entire home page stopped working because the server that had it turned on went down, and none of my other servers do, and possibly can't now because they've disabled the functionality for "managed accounts".

Oh, and at some point apparently the mobile apps stopped working unless you pony up for a subscription.
