Daikon Games

I haven't done a lot of posting but I thought I'd just sort of put some letters in the box and see where that takes me.

It's almost 2 months post-launch of my first commercial game, Chico. I'd say so far it has exceeded my expectations and fallen short of my fantasies lol. Pre-launch I had ~300 wishlists on Steam, and within the launch week I sold around 60 copies. Now about 2 months in I've sold around 130 copies and am over 1300 wishlists.

My plan to convert those many new wishlisters into buyers is a one-two punch of content-update and timed sale, so I've been working on the content update. It's fun but also part of me is just frustrated and wants to move on to new projects. I don't want the new content to reflect that brain vibe though so I have to stay positive about it.

I told myself of course that the new content update would take me "no more than 1 to 2 months" to complete and it's already been 2 months and it's nowhere near complete. Does anyone actually know how to properly scope work lol?

Overall I am still happy with how it's done so far, still think it can do better still in the future, and am still workin my tail off on it.

there is not any big point to this post, but it does feel good to have just typed it up for no real reason. thanks for reading or not :D

This is great! congrats on Actually Making Money!!! There's the old addage of the last 10% takes 90% of the time. I once threw together a simple android game with the thought being that it would take 1 month and I was correct! Except for a list of annoying final polish things that took an additional two months before release. It can feel really grueling to continue to work on things that you feel are already done! Best thing is just to try to relax and power through it, or else reevaluate just how badly some of the final blockers are really needed.

Best of luck with your update!!
