Ahahahaha! He was so butthurt about Bluesky getting moderation and banning people for using racial slurs in their usernames, that he deleted his account and quit the board. And also he doesn't like being amongst a "very, very common crowd", which is probably billionaire techbro-speak for "everyone bullied me off the platform".

Well hey, it sounds like the people left at Bluesky actually might give a shit about combating racism on the platform, so Jack's already left it in a better state than he left Twitter in
They aren't great at combating racism. It's just that their bar, whilst still not being set high enough, is already too high for the likes of Jack Dorsey.
But there are many more POC over there than here, and that does count for something at least.
I can only hope it continues to improve on that front. I've already seen the group volunteer moderators around, but a social media website with the global presence of Twitter that actually manages to keep bigotries off its platform is all I want.

"competing moderated spaces" hmm i wonder which spaces and groups of people have different ideas about what moderation should look like. surely it couldn't be, say, racial minority groups and white supremacists. i think we should have a system that encourages all groups to interact equally! free marketplace of ideas!
