first 35mm pics i've taken since high school. im just hoping the camera i'm borrowing works lol. and that i can figure out a good way to scan them!

I have successfully "scanned" negatives by lighting them from behind and photographing them with a digital camera. Once I got the setup nailed down it worked irritatingly well.
I used a DSLR with a flat-field macro lens but I suspect you could get reasonably decent results with a phone.
ohh interesting! i Think my phone camera is good enough to get some scans for posting online, i'll try that
ive been (very slowly) working my way thru a roll of film and i am so excited to see the results once i (eventually) get the negatives
as a non-photographer but disabled person i was like "hey-o, we're hyped about negative lab results, all right! solidarity!" 🤦♂️ (hell yeah about photography though, congrats)
