one of THE movies of all time. i am obsessed with it. that ending is legitimately one of the best scenes i've ever seen and probably easily my favorite Ending To A Movie i've ever seen
cathartic is the word for it for sure WOW. i was hooting, and also there was quite a bit of hollering! it felt like how a good walk-off home run feels. i felt giddy
are we talking about the 1974 film? i watched that one for the first time my junior year in college for a "cult film and theater" class that i took as an elective credit which i didn't need. it was basically the first horror movie i ever watched and it more or less transformed me. i'm still constantly thinking about how visceral and helpless it all feels despite how little violence you actually see on screen. i love a lot of horror for a lot of reasons. evil dead 2 is my favorite probably. but at gunpoint if i had to choose a movie that fulfilled the mission of horror perfectly, i'd probably say texas chainsaw massacre.
