Local, national, global, or all of the above? It's going to be a combo of "find an RSS reader you like" and "find sources that don't suck", but the latter depends on what scope you're looking for. If you're in the US, public radio remains a godsend as well--lmk the region and I can tell you what station serves you :D

I use a mishmash of feeds in my RSS reader that I've been curating for the last decade-ish + occasionally checking the NYT front page to see if, like, a nuke went off. Also gives me that familiar jab of something to be mad about because the NYT sucks.
