if everyone is On Here then you cannot have, make, or sustain an intentional community. communities (and i strive against the romance of community) of intent & purpose grow, have conflict, and turn away from one another. this holistic mode is antithetical to the infinite growth model of the free market platformatized internet. if you want an intentional community space, you have to work for it and care it out and it cannot be in the tags. start a group chat or even a discord server i guess but don't post
ok i literally have to go and finish my chapter on radical queer care in content moderation practices from the 1980s now
eta: oh my god im nostalgic for the forum days
this is why i'm trying to make my BBS be a place where a small group of people come together to maybe form a community (signs seem promising). moderating it is a little stressful and i dont wanna force a community on anyone. but i needed a space that was Actually mine, so that i had the chance to build one. so the effort is really worth it
BBSing is an extreme example i guess but it's proof that u can just do Whatever online
