feel like the general consensus with techies is why would you ever need to burn a dvd. the cloud... we all love the cloud.... hahahaha ha ha (lain laugh)
fun fact: the DVD standard includes support for a tiny bytecode VM that can control playback, making it possible, in principle, to make absurdly complex minigames and puzzles within DVD menus. From time to time I consider building an authoring tool to make it "easy" to build games in DVD form, but many aspects of such a project would be daunting.
Blu-Ray is even crazier; all Blu-Ray players are required to support BD-J, which can run whole-ass JavaME applications. Imagine writing an SNES emulator in Java and then being able to run it on any random Blu-Ray player by inserting a disk!
