When I was trying to learn these things, I looked at bespoke which is a virtual DAW that's completely visual. You effectively connect the different parts together on your computer using pretend wires. Because it's free, open source, and has a bunch of helpful descriptions on like every piece, I found it to be pretty helpful for me!
Yeah!! I find that if I can't play around and have fun exploring, then it's really difficult to learn a piece of software like this. I hope you enjoy it if you try it out
