an introduction
i've always loved the Let's Play format. specifically the screenshot kind, before the original pivot to video. i have spent many hours diving into the Let's Play Archive over the years and what keeps me coming back to the screenshot LP as a format is... well, it's not a video! don't get me wrong, i love a good video. but reading a thread of someone playing a game has a cozier quality to them that is hard to accomplish in video. and ever since @shel suggested cohost might be a really good place to host such LPs and @gristmill started posting one for Pool of Radiance, well...
here we are
i'm going to play Fire Emblem Awakening for the first time for your viewing/reading pleasure. the only other Fire Emblem experience i've had was playing about 30 minutes of the Famicom one they recently put on Switch sooo yeah i'm basically jumping into this series with fresh eyes. gonna see what all the fuss is about, gonna find out why they keep putting these guys in Smash Bros.
i'm playing on a softmodded New Nintendo 2DS XL, the greatest handheld Nintendo ever made (after modding). new entries in the series will be posted semi-regularly, with links added to this post below! everything will be tagged "#nicky plays" as well. i'm working on it all now but wanted to announce it already lol
the first update will appear on monday (edit: lol oops uhhh i meant 'an unspecified time this week') :)
