i wasn't originally planning on doing a compendium post this time but it's 12:30 and i can't go to bed yet because Reasons and i had a bad night and need to wind down. and what better way to wind down with some kickass music am i right???

this time, the theme was goblin mode. now, the prompt takes this in a more literal direction, but as we all know, "goblin mode" can also be creeping around your abode at weird hours of the night foraging for snacks. so in classic compost fashion, this selection runs the gamut of what "goblin mode" really entails.

without further ado, here are all 35 entries to compost #3! (32 on time, 3 late)

please listen to all of them, they are all exemplary!

with 3 late entries:

my favorite part about this compost was the fact that it seemed like people sort of gravitated to basically making video game soundtracks, which i thought was a cool side effect of the prompt. i also liked the proliferation of capital letters in the song titles, that was really funny

one more thought i had: i was a little bummed about the relative lack of turnout compared to the first two composts. i mean, 35 is still a lot of people, but 43 is even more a lot of people, ya dig? i think a lot of people were just not available today, unfortunately. hell, i was barely available.

then i realized: wait a second. this is cohost! numbers don't matter!!! it's cool when a lot of people participate an event like this, but it would be just as cool if there was even one person doing it. compost really is the prime example of cohost's design philosophy honestly. it's not a popularity contest, it's just about the love of the game (or the music in this case), and that's what makes it so fun.

that being said, i think we should have told the new people from tumblr that this was mandatory to participate in or else they would get banned. :yeah:

as always, thank you very much @hvb for hosting, this is the highlight of my weekend whenever it happens, and i think many of the other participants would say the same!
