god I wish I had any kind of cool/in-demand retro hardware, the only things I have are this toshiba satellite 430CDS and a PS/2 model 35

but yeah as far as emulation, there's the legit route and the unlegit but free route

legit, you can buy Amiga Forever from Cloanto (https://www.amigaforever.com), which is the inheritor of all the commodore amiga software IP rights

free, amiga forever is built around an open source amiga emulator called "WinUAE" (https://www.winuae.net/download/), and you can find copies of the "Kickstarts" (boot ROMs) and "Workbench" (operating system) for the amiga model of your choice at various internet archives

either way there's a bunch of upgrades + helpful utilities bundled up into installers like ClassicWB (http://classicwb.abime.net) and HstWB (https://hstwb.firstrealize.com/) which you can apply to a copy of the system software, however you end up getting it

you can also find a bunch of shareware/abandonware games and demos by googling for "WHDLoad packs", someone called Retroplay makes a set of well-regarded packs

there's also a few different interesting hardware emulation possibilities; there are prepackaged raspberry pi linux distributions for emulating amigas, as well as a MiSTer core that you can hook up to an emulated1 Roland MT-32, and a couple different lines of community-made FPGA "accelerators" for old amiga hardware which are basically just integrated system replacements

  1. maybe real too? I haven't looked into it
