It's real and it was embarrassingly my last straw with audacity, I've stopped using it after like 20 years lmao (actually after the uh. The surprise telemetry thing was the big one, but finding out they were gonna let you upload directly from audacity to maybe the most made-up sounding website did me in lmao)
Oh yeah I've looked into tenacity, it seems ok, I remember being turned off by something about it that I can't remember but it seemed very classic audacity experience so I might give it another go. I feel like I should specify too, the telemetry itself isn't what made me feel weird, I just got bad vibes from the way they implemented it initially, I'm usually not one to care too much about that stuff. I have luckily not had the need to use any of this stuff for a while bc I've been too busy to work on anything ;-;. Thank you for your recommendation :D
