if i played in Major League Baseball, i would simply hit the ball with my bat every time. i would make sure the ball goes where an opposing fielder isn't. this seems really obvious to me but sometimes they just don't do that

That's an okay strategy but I'd hit the ball hard enough that it would go over the outfield wall. That's called a "home run" and is a good thing, in baseball
