audacity isn't spyware omg

they had planned on doing opt-out telemetry and that was shot down basically immediately 3 years ago. it's default opt-in now and if you turn it on it isn't like, logging keystrokes or anything lol. i'm probably still gonna switch to a fork to avoid the cloud storage whatever thing they're putting in, but audacity is not stealing any meaningful data. it's open source, go look for yourself

it reminded me of how i used to import photos into Audacity as raw data, mess with the waveforms, and export back to an image. a friend taught me how to do this in college and haven't really done it since for some reason

but anyway the answer to my thought is "somehow, yes"
